The Big Red Spring is a natural mineral spring located near Saratoga Racetrack's backyard picnic area. The surrounding red-and-white wooden Excelsior Spring Pavilion was built in 1859 and moved to its current location in 1975.
Some say Big Red Spring was named after two thoroughbred champions, others say it was due to the reddish color of the water that came from it.
Either way, I thought it was quite the coincidence. Hope you enjoy it!
